Early Voting starts on Monday, October 19 and runs through Sunday, November 1st,

8:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. daily.  

Vote-by-mail drop boxes will be available inside all early voting sites during early voting. In addition the Supervisor of Elections offices will have Drive Thru Drop Off set up at the following locations:

PRIOR TO EARLY VOTING - You may return your vote-by-mail ballot in person to a secure drop box located inside all supervisor of elections offices during regular business hours (M-F, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.) and from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. on election. day (Nov. 3).


Meet the Candidates for Local & State Office in Sarasota County

Sarasota City Commission - Districts 1 & 2

The Rosemary District Association hosted a candidate forum city commission districts 1 and 2. Candidates Willie Shaw and Kyle Scott Battie were in attendance for district 1. Candidates Liz Alpert Terry Turner were in attendance for district 2.

Sarasota City Commission District 1

Cathy Antunes spoke to City Commission candidate Willie Shaw - the current incumbent. Challenger Kyle Battie did not respond to repeated requests to participate.

Sarasota City Commission District 2

Cathy Antunes, host of the Detail on WSLR 96.5 FM, interviewed two candidates for the Sarasota City Commission District 2 race, Liz Alpert and Terry Turner, on Thursday, June 25.

Sarasota City Commission District 3

Cathy Antunes, host of the Detail on WSLR 96.5 FM, interviewed three candidates for the Sarasota City Commission District 3 race, Erik Arroyo, Dan Clermont, and Rob Grant, on Thursday, June 18. Rob Grant was eliminated in the August Primary. Dan Clermont and Erik Arroyo will face off in the General Election.

Sarasota City Commission District 1, 2, & 3

The League of Women Voters hosts a panel with city commission candidates from districts 1, 2, and 3.Candidates Willie Shaw and Kyle Scott Battie were in attendance for district one. Candidates Liz Alpert and Terry Turner were in attendance for district 2. Candidates Daniel Clermont and Erik Arroyo were in attendance for district 3.
